Discover A Natural Healer - Tea Tree Oil

Although recommended to me for sometime now, I just recently discovered the all natural benefits of tea tree oil and wanted to share. Tea Tree oil hailing from Australia turns out to be one of the most useful of all the essential oils. The antiseptic, germicidal, antifungal, antibacterial immune-boosting qualities of tea tree oil make it applicable to a wide range of health conditions. In addition, the antiseptic benefits of the oil allow its use as a natural cleaner and disinfectant within the house. I find it has a nice clean camphoraceous smell and a little goes a long way. Here are just some common uses for tea tree oil.

Just dab a drop or two on a q-tip or cotton ball and apply directly to:
  • Fungal Infections including Athletes Foot
  • Eczema
  • Cuts and Scrapes - great for kids due to non-sting
  • Cold Sores & Canker Sores
  • Bug Bites - to heal and stop the itch
  • Red bumps from Shaving
  • Sun Burns
Or add a few drops to some to your existing products:
  • Prevent Diaper Rash - Add a little to some baby cream to work as rash preventative.
  • Cure Dry Scalp / Dandruff - Add a few drops of oil to your shampoo or conditioner. Or just add 1-2 drops to your hand before you shampoo.
  • Sore Throat and Congestion - use a steaming bowl of water, add 2 - 3 drops of Tea Tree Oil into it. Cover your head with a towel and lean over the top of the bowl and inhale the vapors for about 5-10 minutes.
  • All Purpose Household Cleaner - 1 tsp tea tree oil, 2 cups of water, shake to blend, and spray. Do not rinse. Some add a bit of all natural dish soap and use it to clean counter tops, sinks etc.
It is very inexpensive and you can buy a bottle from natural stores, grocery stores or in the Bulk Barn's soap section. Definitely worth a try! Posted here are only some of it's uses!
